Day one meant leaving Ballarat at 4:30am, parking in the long term at Tullamarine, meeting at 6:30 for out 8:30 flight - delays at Tullamarine meant we left at about 9:45!
At Perth, we transferred to the international terminal, through immigration - where one of our party, Peter, finds he has bought the wrong passport and so cannot leave with us! All fixed later as he had to travel back to Melbourne, get correct passport, and then meet as later on Mahe.
8 hours on the plane to Mauritius, then queues to get through immigration again, and then an hour on the bus to our hotel - Le Surcouf (a Mauritian pirate!) - and fall into bed!
Wake to warmth, the beautiful Indian Ocean at our door, and palm trees.
